Als vrouwelijke wervelende derwisj in een traditioneel mannelijke praktijk, ontwikkelt ze een krachtige artistieke taal, geworteld in zowel erfgoed als hedendaagse expressie. Muziek was haar eerste kennismaking met soefi-spiritualiteit, toen ze de daf begon te bespelen, een heilige raamtrommel van Koerdische oorsprong. Het soefisme werd vervolgens de rode draad in haar leven en haar belangrijkste inspiratiebron. Deze relatie met spiritualiteit is niet louter een kwestie van afkomst: of het nu door beoefening of intellectuele verkenning is, Rana heeft haar leven volledig aan dit ene onderwerp gewijd.<\/p><p data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"1203\">Hoewel de kunstenares tijdens haar adolescentie lid werd van een soefi-broederschap, begon ze deze pas in 2017 op het artistieke podium te brengen. Zeggen de soefi's niet: \u201cEen gek weet niet dat hij gek is, een wijze beweert niet wijs te zijn, en een soefi zegt niet dat hij soefi is\u201d? Het soefisme vormt niet alleen Rana's denken; het voedt zowel haar kunst als haar onderwijs. Op het podium, tijdens haar optredens, wordt Rana's dans een ononderbroken opstijgende spiraal, een beweging die werkelijk naar het goddelijke lijkt te leiden. In haar pedagogiek blijft spiritualiteit altijd aanwezig, aangezien soefidans niet buiten zijn spirituele context begrepen kan worden.
